Two brides have become two of the most kickass women in the world by marrying to protest against homophobia in Russia.

Alina Davis, a 23-year-old trans woman, and Allison Brooks, her 19-year-old partner, donned matching white floor-length bridal gowns and married at a civil registry office earlier this month.

As Davis is still legally regarded as male, the office had no choice but to hand them a marriage certificate.

The couple said officials chided them, and appeared to be violent.

‘She called us the shame of the family and said we need medical treatment … I was afraid my pussycat [an affectionate pet name in Russian] would beat the fuck out of her,’ Davis said on her VK page.

But the couple were allowed to sign the papers, meaning a gay couple in Russia are legally recognized as married – even if it’s through a loophole.

‘This is an important precedent for Russia,’ Davis said.

Russia banned same-sex marriage and outlawed ‘gay propaganda’ in 2013.

"Oh, you don’t wanna recognize my gender? Okay then lol guess you have to recognize my marriage"

Sealstuck for Toasty’s thing! With a significant lack of marine life and a gracious helping of high fantasy au.

In this au, the four beta kids are best friends who discover their world is ending soon so they research stuff and find lore about the Twelve Seals! So they embark on a quest to break all the Seals and bond/contract the released Seal Guardians after defeating their monster forms. But oh no! The Alpha kids are trying to stop them and no one knows why (it’s because breaking all Twelve Seals releases Lord English and causes the end of the world they’re trying to prevent oops)

Here, Rose is breaking the Eleventh Seal and summoning Eridan; she bonded with Aradia and Kanaya. John bonded with Tavros, Vriska and Gamzee, Dave bonded with Karkat, Sollux, and Terezi, and Jade bonded with Nepeta, Equius, and will bond with Feferi. The Seal Gaurdians are inspired by Tales of Symphonia Centurions, and each has traits a bit like their lusus in canon. But they float and aid in battle.

I have more character designs in mind but I spent way to much time on this drawing already and it’s 3 am so maybe I’ll draw them some other time.

oh man how absolutely fabulous! @o@ Love the plot~

Who Said So: Captain John Cleves Symmes, a hero of the War of 1812.

What He Believed: The earth has four layers, like a big onion. Each is a “warm and rich land, stocked with vegetables and animals, if not men…” What we perceive as the surface of the Earth is actually the fifth and outer layer. And the North and South poles aren’t just poles, they’re also holes leading to the four interior worlds.

History: In 1823 Symmes managed to get a bill introduced in the U.S. Congress to finance a steamship voyage to the “North Hole” and to the inner worlds beyond. When the bill received only 25 votes, Johnson talked President Adams’s secretaries of the Navy and the Treasury into outfitting three ships for a voyage to the middle of the earth. But before it got underway, Andrew Jackson became president and scuttled the trip. Symmes died in 1829, unfulfilled, but his theory remained popular with unconventional thinkers until 1909, when Robert Peary set foot on the North Pole (or at least came close) …and found no hole.

Even after 1909, the hollow-Earth theory had its admirers - including Adolf Hitler. Today, a few diehard hollow-Earthers believe that Hitler survived World War II, escaped to an interior world under the South Pole, and may still be hiding there, mingling with “a race of advanced hollow-Earth beings who are responsible for UFO sightings throughout history.”
